Beginners are welcome at every class. From our more challenging classes like Hot Hiit & Core, Arms, Abs & Assets, and Kick Your Asana, to our gentler Slow Burn or Candlelight Sweat & Surrender, you are always encouraged to move at YOUR pace, focus on YOUR breath, and sweat as much or as little as makes YOU happy! Do know, that in all our classes, you will be working every muscle, tendon, joint, and internal organ in your body, while you build strength, balance, and flexibility, all guaranteed to give you a challenging, invigorating, exhilarating, and blissful experience.

Hi, I'm Mike.
I started getting serious about yoga six years ago. For years in my late 20’s and 30’s I experienced periodic back pain. As I poured most of my energy into my family and career (I’m a teacher at Eastern High School – go Quakers!), I watched my health make the slow creep downhill.
The ELHY Experience.
Do try to arrive at least 15 minutes early, then check in at the desk either verbally or on the iPad. If you need rent a mat and/or towel or buy a water if you forgot yours, we can take care of you at the desk. Mats and yoga towels are each $2 to rent or $3 for the combo. From there, put your stuff in a cubbie, and if you need to change or use the bathroom, you can head to the back where there are two changing rooms, two bathrooms, and more cubbies. Don't forget to grab a complimentary washcloth outside the studio door to wipe your sweaty brow during class, then head into the hot room to find your new favorite spot on the floor! It's that easy and stress free, we promise!
If you rented a mat, please use the mat spray provided in the studio room and return it to the desk. Drop your rental towel and washcloth in the laundry bin, then feel free to relax on one of our benches and decompress, chill, laugh, breathe, and savor everything you just did!

How we started
We opened with just three teachers, myself included, and for the first few months, life was a whirlwind of steady growth, each of us teaching doubles and triples more days than not, and a whole lot of learning!
Very appreciative of the amount of relaxation and happiness I feel every single time I attend class. My energy has never felt this high. Positivity radiates inside of the studio walls ♡
I attended my first hot yoga class and the experience was amazing! I had been supa stressed and while silently crying throughout the first quarter, the entire workout allowed me to unload and sweat out toxins in my body. I felt like a new creature when I was done. I had never done yoga before.....ever.....I will be back!
This community is more than just a bunch of yogis, it’s a supportive group of friends that just so happen to meditate, flow and grow together! I was one of the YTT 200 students in the Fall of 2018 and the experience has been truly life changing! I got way more out of the training than I ever expected! To this day, no matter where I travel, the MI Hot Yoga Studios’ family is my true yoga family!
I really enjoyed the thursday slow burn yoga class. I felt great afterwards. I went at my own pace and for my first yoga class i did a more intense class but it was great.. The instructor was very good about giving instructions.. I took a few breaks during the class because i am not use to the heat and constant movements but my body felt great after waking up this morning. The instructor also gave a message at the beginning of class and had great words of wisdom.. I am going to do it again for sure.
I took the candle light slow burn class on Sunday. I was a little nervous because I had never done yoga before, much less hot yoga. I am also on the bigger side and was worried I wouldn't be able to do it. I loved it and once the class got started my worries were completely forgotten. Can't wait to come back next week!!
Took my first live class & it was AMAZING! I wish I could start every day like this! Jen C. gave awesome instruction & I really liked the variations she suggested to make it an experience best for your body. Can't wait to come back!
A great practice for mind and body. Makes this 45 year old feel like I am in college again. A major part of my week.
LOVE to practice here. The instructors are amazing. The classes are always challenging and the atmosphere is just what I need. I don't get to come as often as I would like, but I do come as often as I can 🙂
Honestly I thought I was gonna die. I'm not in shape like I want to be. Turns out it was one of the greatest experiences I've had!
