For a long time, I had many assumptions about what yoga was and who could do it. And for a long time, these assumptions prevented me from setting foot inside a yoga studio. With encouragement from a friend, I eventually worked up the courage to attend a (dimly lit) sunrise vinyasa class. While I wasn’t completely transformed at the end of that first class, I had peeled back a layer of willingness to open up to yoga. And so I came back to my mat to begin again. And again. And again.
Since 2012, my yoga practice has grown quite a bit. It’s also ebbed and flowed, paused and resumed, and remained exactly that- a practice- imperfect and ever changing. By showing up on my mat, I continue to learn how to become present and find connection through breath and movement.
In the Fall of 2017, I completed my 200 hour yoga teaching training at Just B Yoga and am humbled to be able to continue my yoga journey as an instructor. While I enjoy teaching a variety of classes- from slow burn, to Hiit, to KYA- a focus on breath and inclusivity is the unifying theme throughout. Now more than ever, I look forward to the opportunity to share breath, vibration, and community with you in the sweet, sweaty heat of the ELHY study!
